What is a reference sheet?
Similar to an animation model sheet, a reference sheet is art created to show different views of a character. This can be in the form of photos, 3D graphics, or original illustrations. This helps to take a 2-D image and create it in a 3-D environment.

I play an MMORPG like Second Life or World of Warcraft. Can you recreate my character?
Due to potential copyright violations, your concept art must either be in the form of original artwork or photo examples.
Can you make a copy for me of one of your costumes?
No, we will not recreate any of the designs in our gallery and we discourage this. We focus on making original characters.
How are your costumes made?
All of our costumes are unique and handmade. Heads and feet are individually sculpted from upholstery foam, and all of our feet are soled with shoe sole material (crepe). Feet and heads are individually sculpted, and all sewn production is hand crafted to a specific project. Seams are generally sewn twice, either by hand and then machine, or by hand. Synthetic and latex-free materials are used.
Do you use real fur on your animal characters?
All the fabric used is synthetic. We also keep an animal-free environment.
Do you do air brushing?
We do not. Some detailing is done with light fast materials on our heads, but for details such as spots and stripes, all of it is hand sewn.
What is duct tape dummy, and why do I need to send one?
A duct tape dummy is a replica of a person’s body by wrapping duct tape over clothing. They are used to help create the body suits for our characters. If you are sending us a duct tape dummy, it must be completely taped back together. If it left unsealed, it will be returned.

Can you send me progress photos of my costume?
Yes we can. We like to keep everyone posted on their projects and enjoy sharing them in progress.
What type of warranty do you offer?
All costume parts have a 90 day warranty when they are completed and your costume has been received. If the costume is altered in anyway post arrival, the warranty is voided. Feel free to email us at bluecanarycharacters@gmail.com with any questions.
Can I rent or borrow one of your costumes.
We do not rent out our costumes.

Why do I need to leave a 30% non-refundable deposit?
This both secures a spot for your project and to covers the cost of materials. The remaining 70% is due at the time of completion.
